Supply chain strategies shift toward resilience and digital integration

Recent industry insights highlight a global shift in manufacturing and supply chain management toward resilience, agility, and digital integration. In the Asia-Pacific region, manufacturing is moving away from a pure focus on cost and efficiency to prioritize digital capabilities, automation, and operational resilience to combat prolonged disruptions.

A study by Efeso Management Consultants reveals specific trends in supply chain resilience across Europe and the United States. French companies appear particularly well-prepared regarding visibility and risk management; 45.9% of French respondents reported full visibility into tier 2 and tier 3 suppliers, significantly higher than the 31.2% global average. Additionally, French firms lead in risk management frequency, with 43.2% conducting monthly assessments.

Despite these strengths, challenges remain in forecast reliability, particularly in sectors like aerospace and defense where critical component bottlenecks can occur. While many companies, especially in France, have increased safety stocks in recent years, the complexity of mapping deep-tier suppliers remains a critical focus for maintaining competitiveness and compliance with ESG expectations.
