Support Your Girlfriends hosts empowerment retreat in Barbados

Support Your Girlfriends, a 501(c)(3) organization founded by Dr. Nikkia McClain in 2017, recently held a retreat in Barbados in partnership with the island’s tourism board. The initiative, which began as a small getaway for friends, has grown into a movement serving a community of over 300 members through free programming, resources, and tools.

The recent trip included workshops focused on self-care and mobilization led by figures such as Yandy Smith, Tamika Mallory, and Lucinda Cross. The organization also engaged with local youth in Barbados, working with young girls from area churches to foster empowerment and identity.
