Supportive Partners Show Key Signs of Healthy Relationships
Relationship experts outline three behaviours that indicate a truly supportive partner. They intervene when a partner self‑sabotages, help break negative cycles and boost confidence; they actively work on shared future plans such as education, career or health goals; and they are willing to change habits or seek help when it benefits the relationship.
Conversely, five warning signs point to emotional immaturity in a partner: a lack of empathy, disregard for personal boundaries, avoidance of serious conversations, frequent uncontrolled emotional outbursts, and avoidance of deep emotional closeness. Recognising these patterns can prompt honest dialogue and improve relationship quality.
