Supreme Administrative Court orders re-evaluation of Jaroslav Brož's dismissal

The Supreme Administrative Court (NSS) has overturned a previous ruling regarding the dismissal of Jaroslav Brož from his position as dean of the Catholic Faculty of Theology at Charles University. The court has ordered the Prague Municipal Court to re-evaluate the legality of his removal.

While the NSS granted Brož’s cassation complaint, it rejected several of his specific arguments. These included claims regarding the illegitimate composition of the academic senate and the lack of sufficient reasoning in the rector’s decision. The court ruled that the rector’s decision was sufficient as it aligned with the academic senate’s proposal.

The court emphasized that the reasons for dismissal cannot be viewed as isolated incidents but must be assessed collectively, as the accusations formed a continuous sequence. This ruling does not automatically confirm Brož as dean but requires a comprehensive reassessment of the circumstances surrounding his dismissal by the municipal court.
