Supreme Board of Drugs launches pharmacovigilance training in Yemen

The Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances has launched a training program to enhance the capabilities of pharmacovigilance and drug safety officers across several provinces. Represented by the National Center for Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety, the initiative involves 16 contact officers from Marib, Taiz, Abyan, Lahj, and Al Dhale'e.

The two-day program aims to improve the efficiency of personnel in monitoring and tracking side effects and drug interactions. It also focuses on strengthening mechanisms for collecting, analyzing, and reporting information to support drug regulatory systems and protect patient safety.

Dr. Abdulqader Ahmed Al-Bakri, Executive Director General of the Supreme Board, emphasized that continuous training is a fundamental pillar for ensuring drug safety and quality. He noted that a developed pharmacovigilance system provides accurate information to help the board make informed regulatory decisions and distinguish between pharmaceutical companies that adhere to quality standards and those that do not.
