Supreme Court addresses NEET exam protests and re-examination pleas

The Supreme Court of India is addressing legal challenges and protests surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) processes. In a recent ruling regarding student protests over exam fairness and accessibility, the Court emphasized the need to balance the right to peaceful democratic expression with the necessity of maintaining public order and safety.

Separately, a plea has been filed challenging the re-examination of the NEET-PG 2026 exam for 2,445 students who were unable to participate due to technical disruptions. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences is scheduled to conduct this re-exam. The Supreme Court has directed that all matters related to NEET be heard by a designated bench led by Justice PS Narasimha.
