Supreme Court denies Station Casinos' request to block union bargaining order

The US Supreme Court has denied an emergency request from Station Casinos to block a lower court order requiring Red Rock Casino Resort to recognize and bargain with the Culinary Union Local 226.

The dispute originates from a December 2019 union election where employees voted against unionization. However, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) later determined that Station Casinos interfered with the election process by introducing improved employee benefits shortly before the vote. The NLRB concluded these actions affected the outcome, leading to a mandate for the casino to recognize the union and negotiate in good faith.

Station Casinos has argued that the benefits were part of a broader strategy implemented across its Las Vegas properties and were not intended to influence the specific Red Rock vote. While the company stated it will comply with the court order, it continues to challenge the underlying NLRB decision and may still ask the Supreme Court to formally hear the case.
