Supreme Court panel launches portal for Jantar Mantar violence complaints
The Supreme Court-appointed High Powered Enquiry Committee (HPEC) has launched an online portal to receive complaints and information regarding the violence that occurred at Jantar Mantar and other locations in July 2026. The committee, led by former Justice R. Subhash Reddy, was established to investigate various aspects of the clashes, which took place during protests over alleged exam irregularities.
The HPEC will prioritize investigations into the use of pellet guns, targeted violence, the harassment of female protesters, and excessive destruction of property by either side. The newly launched portal is designed to protect vulnerable witnesses by allowing affected individuals, including police personnel, to submit representations and maintain confidentiality regarding their identities.
In addition to the digital portal, individuals may submit complaints and relevant materials in person at the HPEC office located at Shiksha Sadan in New Delhi.
