Supreme Court rules against Trade Centre Praha in Prague lease dispute

The Supreme Court of the Czech Republic has rejected an appeal by the municipal company Trade Centre Praha (TCP) regarding the termination of a lease agreement with the association Dvojka sobě. The dispute concerned the rental of two cellars on the Prague Embankment, one of which was being operated as a cafe by a third party.

TCP had terminated the lease on the grounds that the association had sublet the space without the owner's knowledge or consent. However, lower courts ruled the termination unlawful, noting that Prague was aware of the cafe's operation and had even signed an amendment to the lease agreement. The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal, stating it was inadmissible because it attempted to challenge factual findings rather than legal errors.
