Supreme Court Takes Up Twisha Sharma Death Case, CBI Probe Sent to Bhopal

The Supreme Court of India has taken suo motu cognizance of the suspicious death of 17‑year‑old Twisha Sharma in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Following a hearing on 25 May, family members, friends and her lawyer expressed hope for a fair and transparent investigation. A seven‑member team from the Central Bureau of Investigation has been dispatched to Bhopal to conduct the probe. The family reiterated their demand for swift justice and an unbiased inquiry, while the lawyer praised the Court’s intervention as a step toward restoring public confidence in the criminal justice system. Further proceedings will consider the post‑mortem report and other evidence, with the Court overseeing the case to ensure transparency.
