Supreme Court upholds sanctions against Municipality of Talca

The Supreme Court of Chile has upheld a sanction against the Municipality of Talca regarding infrastructure and staffing violations at the Liceo de Cultura y Difusión Artística. The ruling confirms a previous decision by the Court of Appeals of Talca, rejecting the municipality's appeal against a resolution issued by the Superintendency of Education.

The sanctions stem from an administrative procedure that identified three confirmed infractions: presenting risky and poorly maintained infrastructure, failing to provide required qualified educational or technical personnel, and not meeting minimum requirements for sanitary services. As a result, the municipality, acting as the school's provider, will face a temporary and partial deprivation of 1% of its general subsidy for one month.
