Supreme Federal Court President replaces Moraes as Fake News Inquiry rapporteur

Supreme Federal Court President Edson Fachin has removed Minister Alexandre de Moraes as the rapporteur of the Fake News Inquiry (Inq. 4. 781/DF). Under the new decision, Fachin will take over the responsibility for the inquiry.

The ruling specifies that all criminal actions already established with formal charges received will remain under the supervision of Alexandre de Moraes to preserve existing procedural rites. However, Fachin will now oversee inquiries, petitions, and other preliminary investigation procedures that were distributed by prevention to the Fake News Inquiry.

Additionally, Fachin suspended previous decisions made by Ministers André Mendonça and Flávio Dino regarding the tenure of the Director-General of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, and the corporation's Intelligence Director, Leandro Almada.
