Supreme State Audit finds 3.2 million euros in budget losses

The Supreme State Audit (KLSH) has identified approximately 314.9 million lek, or over 3.2 million euros, in negative effects on the state budget during audits conducted between January and April 2026. The findings include issues with public contract implementation, revenue administration, judicial decision payments, and operational expenditures.

Of the total amount, 84.3 million lek is classified as direct economic damage, while 230.5 million lek is categorized as ineffective fund management. Nearly 97% of the economic damage is linked to violations in public procurement procedures and contract execution, such as payments for incomplete works and technical non-compliance.

Ineffective management issues also involve revenue collection, specifically regarding environmental permits. The National Environmental Agency and regional agencies were noted for 93.6 million lek in issues, while Aleksandër Moisiu University was cited for 32.6 million lek. Additionally, 59.9 million lek was linked to the execution of judicial decisions through private bailiffs.
