Supriya Shrinate criticizes BJP over national symbols

Congress leader Supriya Shrinate has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming the party has made zero contribution to India's national symbols, including the national flag, national anthem, and national song.

Addressing the controversy surrounding ‘Vande Mataram’, Shrinate stated that the issue stems from differing ideologies. She advocated for the approach advised by Rabindranath Tagore—which was supported by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru—to adopt two distinct verses. She argued that national symbols should not be imposed on anyone and that the Congress party will decide which national songs are played at its own events.

Shrinate also responded to recent political remarks, including comments by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut regarding senior Congress leaders and remarks by HD Kumaraswamy concerning Sonia Gandhi's heritage.
