Słupsk museum hosts world's largest Witkacy collection

The Muzeum Pomorza Środkowego in Słupsk, located in the restored White Granary, houses the world's largest collection of works by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, known as Witkacy. The collection features over 260 artworks, providing a comprehensive look at the evolution of the Polish avant-garde artist.

The exhibition includes early landscapes, works based on his theory of Pure Form, and pastels from his Portrait Company era (1925–1939). These portraits are categorized into different types, ranging from smooth depictions to expressive deformations. The museum also displays archival materials, including personal letters, manuscripts, and unique photographs.
