Surabaya authorities hunt online gambling defendant Hartono

Authorities in Surabaya are searching for Hartono, a defendant in an online gambling case who has been on the wanted list (DPO) for over a month. The Tanjung Perak District Attorney's Office reported that searches have been conducted at his known residences and domiciles, but he has not been located.

The legal proceedings have been halted due to his disappearance. Hartono failed to appear for three scheduled court sessions, including the initial hearing on June 2, 2026, and subsequent dates for the reading of the indictment. Because he failed to respond to multiple summons, the judges returned the case file to the prosecutor.

Hartono was not initially detained because his role in the case was considered that of a mere facilitator. The case involves illegal lottery activities conducted through the Mariatogel website at a coffee shop in the Krembangan area.
