Surabaya driver confesses to drunk driving in fatal hit-and-run

A 32-year-old woman, identified as ENR, has confessed to driving under the influence of alcohol during a fatal hit-and-run incident in Surabaya. The suspect admitted to consuming approximately seven glasses of alcohol at a nightclub before driving alone around 03:30 WIB on Sunday, August 23.

According to police reports, the incident began when ENR struck a parked electric taxi on Jalan Taman Apsari. Fearing a confrontation with local residents, she attempted to flee the scene, driving toward Jalan Gubernur Suryo. This second maneuver resulted in a more severe collision that caused a pedestrian's death. ENR expressed regret for her actions and her decision to drive while intoxicated.
