Surabaya ex‑parcel courier arrested with 274 g cannabis and methamphetamine
Police in Surabaya arrested a 30‑year‑old man identified only as MSK, who had previously worked as a parcel courier before turning to drug trafficking for economic reasons. During a raid on his home on July 2, officers seized ten packages of cannabis wrapped in newspaper, one package of methamphetamine, an electric weighing scale, plastic clips, a Sekrop, and a mobile phone.
The seized cannabis weighed 274.76 grams and the methamphetamine 0.079 gram. MSK admitted he became a drug courier after being approached by an individual known as “Mbah” or “Cak K”, who is now listed as a wanted person. The operation was conducted by the narcotics unit of Surabaya Police after a community tip.
Police highlighted the case as an example of economic pressures leading individuals to join illegal drug networks and emphasized ongoing efforts to dismantle the local drug trade.
