Surabaya passenger dies in motorcycle and truck collision

A female motorcycle passenger died following a collision with a truck on Jalan Raya Romokalisari, Benowo, Surabaya, on Sunday morning.

The victim, identified by the initials EO (37), was a resident of East Nusa Tenggara traveling on a motorcycle driven by MNG (38). While attempting to cross the road after exiting an alley, the motorcycle grazed the side of a truck. This caused both the motorcycle and the passenger to fall, at which point a passing truck struck and ran over the victim.

Emergency responders from the Benowo Police, Satpol PP, and BPBD Surabaya arrived at the scene. Initial medical examinations by the West Region Rapid Response Team (TGC) confirmed the victim sustained head and body injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was evacuated via ambulance to RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. The Surabaya Metropolitan Police Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
