Suraj Singh Mayanglambam narrowly misses Wushu podium at Asian Games
Indian wushu athlete Suraj Singh Mayanglambam finished 11th in the men’s Changquan Wushu final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. He narrowly missed a podium finish, trailing the bronze medal mark by only 0.040 points.
Competing in a field of 21 athletes at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall, Mayanglambam achieved a total score of 9.683. His performance included a perfect 5.00 in Quality of Movement (A-Score) and a 2.00 in Degree of Difficulty (C-Score) with no deductions. He earned a 2.683 in Overall Performance (B-Score).
The top two positions were claimed by Kuong Chi Hin of Macau with 9.723 points and Chi Kuan Song with 9.720 points. Changquan is a dynamic wushu discipline characterized by fast-paced, acrobatic movements including high kicks, aerial jumps, and explosive punches.
