Suresh Patel shot dead during armed robbery in Tennessee store

Suresh Parsottamdas Patel, a 62-year-old businessman originally from Mehsana, Gujarat, was shot and killed during an armed robbery at his store in Jackson, Tennessee. The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Richest Sellers Wine and Spirits.

According to local reports, a masked assailant entered the establishment, threatened employees with a firearm, and demanded cash. When Patel resisted the robbery, the gunman shot him, resulting in his death at the scene. Patel, who had lived in the United States for approximately 30 years, had reportedly taken over the management of the store only days prior to the attack.

Patel’s 19-year-old daughter was present in the store and witnessed the shooting. The suspect, described in CCTV footage as a person wearing a grey hoodie, jeans, and a paintball-style mask, fled the scene in a white sedan. The Jackson Police Department is currently investigating the homicide and searching for the suspect.
