Surf Brasil Base 2026 defines Brazilian Junior National Surfing Team

The Surf Brasil Base 2026 competition in Navegantes has concluded, determining the members of the Brazilian Junior National Surfing Team for the 2027 ISA Junior World Championship. The event featured athletes ranging from under-12 to under-18 categories.

Key winners include Felipe Homsi (Sub-18 male) and Maeva Guastalla (Sub-18 female). The selected Sub-18 male team consists of Felipe Homsi, Pablo Gabriel, and Michel Demétrio, while the female team includes Maeva Guastalla, Giovanna Rocha, and Júlia Stefani. The Sub-16 rosters feature Nicolas Silva, Lucas Velasquez, and Iago Bellotti for the males, and Carol Bastides, Aninha Dagostini, and Giovanna Rocha for the females.

In addition to these selections, Brazilian athletes are active in various international and national sports competitions. In surfing, the WSL Challenger Series stage in Maresias features several Brazilians, including João Chianca, Deivid Silva, and Sophia Medina. Other scheduled sporting events include the ATP Challenger Curitiba in tennis, WTT Youth Contender Asunción II in table tennis, and a U-20 international friendly match between Brazil and Denmark in football.
