Surf lifesaving clubs achieve milestones in UK and Australia

Surf lifesaving clubs in the United Kingdom and Australia have achieved notable milestones in recent competitions and award ceremonies.

Mullion Surf Life Saving Club made its debut at the UK's largest Surf Life Saving National Championships held at Holywell Bay. Competing against over 2,000 participants, the club's youth athletes earned their first championship points, placing 28th among youth teams and 27th among Nippers clubs. Following the event, the club launched a crowdfunding campaign to upgrade training equipment such as race boards and surf skis.

In Australia, Shellharbour Surf Life Saving Club was named NSW Club of the Year at the Surf Life Saving NSW Awards of Excellence. The club was recognized for its culture, governance, and community connection following a season where membership exceeded 1,000. Additionally, Gerringong’s Harrison Wicks was named Youth Surf Lifesaver of the Year, marking the first state award for the Gerringong club since 2002.
