Surfing events held in Brazil and Portugal

The 11th Military Surf Festival took place at Praia Grande in Ubatuba, Brazil, drawing athletes from five states: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, Paraná, and Tocantins. The event, integrated into the Ubatuba Surf Association calendar, aimed to bridge the gap between the Military Police and the surfing community. Organizer Lieutenant Renan Santos Franco noted the festival seeks to dispel stigmas and demonstrate police support for the sport.

In Portugal, the 12th edition of the Buondi Surf Sessions was held at Carcavelos beach, focusing on inclusive surfing in partnership with SURFaddict. The event promoted adaptive surfing for individuals regardless of age, motor skills, cognitive abilities, or visual impairments. Teresa Abraços, president of SURFaddict, emphasized the importance of socialization and mental health through the sport, with the event supported by the Portuguese Adaptive Surf Association.
