Surgeon Dr Aleksandar Ilić Fatally Stabbed in Vršac, Serbia

Dr. Aleksandar Ilić, a young surgeon at the General Hospital in Vršac, was attacked with a knife on the night of 1 August 2026. After a domestic dispute with his former wife, he was allegedly stabbed by a teenage boy present in the household. He was first taken to a local health centre and then rushed to the hospital, where he died despite emergency treatment.

Colleagues described Ilić as an outstanding doctor from a respected medical family. One colleague said, “Aleksandar je bio izuzetan, mladi lekar. Ovo je ogroman šok za sve nas!” The tragedy has left staff at the Vršac hospital in shock, with many reporting sleepless nights following the incident.
