Suri Cruise to Star in Modern 'Midsummer Night's Dream' Adaptation

Suri Cruise, the 20‑year‑old daughter of actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, is set to headline a contemporary version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The production, titled “Midsummer!”, will be performed by her classmates at Carnegie Mellon University’s Peirce Studio in the Trust Arts Education Center, Pittsburgh, on July 31 and August 1, 2024. After the Pittsburgh shows, the cast will travel to the United Kingdom for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where the play will make its UK debut in August 2026.

Cruise, who moved from New York to Pittsburgh to study musical theatre at Carnegie Mellon, previously appeared in a staged reading of “Cosmic Microwave Background” at Pittsburgh’s New Hazlett Theater in March. She is taking the stage role as part of her university coursework and hopes the production will give her a foothold in professional acting.
