Surinam Airways cancels Miami flight due to aircraft issues

Surinam Airways (SLM) has cancelled its flight to Miami following operational issues with an aircraft. The disruption originated when flight PY9914, traveling from Belém to Paramaribo, failed to arrive at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport.

As a result of the missing connection, the scheduled flight PY421 to Miami was also cancelled. Passengers reported significant frustration after an initial delay was followed by a total cancellation, leading to unexpected expenses such as hotel stays. SLM confirmed the cancellations were due to ‘operational reasons’ and stated they are seeking a ‘suitable solution’ for the affected travelers.
