Surinam Airways partners with World Atlantic for regional flights

Surinam Airways (SLM) has announced a partnership with World Atlantic to address recent operational challenges and improve the reliability of its regional services. The collaboration officially commenced on September 3, with the inaugural flight, PY422, operating the Miami–Georgetown–Paramaribo route.

The move follows a period of significant disruptions caused by technical issues, including the grounding of aircraft PZ-TCX in Georgetown. These issues led to flight delays and communication difficulties, prompting SLM to seek temporary assistance from aviation partner Global X. The airline has issued apologies to passengers for the inconvenience and stated that this new strategic direction is part of an effort to restore service quality and transparency.
