Suriname Education Ministry Clears IMEAO 2 Director

The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture announced that an internal control investigation found no improper handling of school finances by director Sewaram of IMEAO 2. The probe, launched after allegations by a verification committee and the Syndicaat der Onderwijsgevenden, concluded that while some procedural errors occurred, the financial resources were managed correctly.

The ministry expressed regret over the public accusations, apologized to director Sewaram for reputational damage, and urged stakeholders to use formal procedures and refrain from premature public statements while investigations are ongoing.
