Suriname Ministry of Defense and SZF sign medical insurance agreement
The Ministry of Defense and the Social Health Fund (SZF) have reached an agreement regarding new medical insurance for defense personnel and their dependents. This agreement aims to ensure the continuity of medical care for active-duty military members, retirees, widows, widowers, and other eligible beneficiaries.
In addition to the health insurance agreement, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for the implementation and formalization of these arrangements. Minister of Defense Uraiqit Ramsaran participated in the negotiations, emphasizing that the health and well-being of the defense community are top priorities. The agreement is intended to reduce uncertainty and provide a stable foundation for medical services, addressing both physical and psychological challenges faced by military personnel.
