Suriname Ministry of Education launches online employer statements
Civil servants at Suriname’s Ministry of Education, Science and Culture (MinOWC) can now request employer statements online as of September 1, 2026. This initiative is part of a broader effort by e-Gov to digitalize various government services.
Acting e-Gov Director Llydion Dalfour stated that the rollout follows a phased approach. The MinOWC was selected for this initial launch due to the high volume of requests from its staff, as it is one of the country’s largest ministries. The goal is to eventually extend this digital service to the entire civil service apparatus.
Users can access the service through a dedicated tab on their digital ID platform, allowing them to request and download documents directly. The system includes security measures to ensure document authenticity and compliance with legal requirements. Additionally, efforts are underway to coordinate with the Suriname Police Force to improve the digital driver's license portal and enhance overall government document management.
