Surinder Choudhary pledges regularization for daily wagers

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary has pledged to regularize all daily wagers in the Union Territory within his five-year tenure. Addressing National Health Mission (NHM) employees who recently conducted a 72-hour pen-down strike, Choudhary stated that a dedicated committee has been formed to examine the regularization framework. He advised NHM workers against further agitation, noting that the NHM is a centrally sponsored scheme.

NHM employees have been demanding equal pay for equal work, a fair transfer policy, and permanent employment status, citing their service during emergencies and harsh weather conditions.

During a separate public outreach program in the Kishtwar district, Choudhary announced plans to establish a small industrial estate in Chatroo to boost local employment. He also addressed various community grievances regarding infrastructure, including requests for a Government Industrial Training Institute, improved drainage, and better water and power services. Choudhary encouraged local youth to utilize the Mission Yuva Scheme for financial assistance in starting enterprises.
