Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons achieves box office success

The film Vishwanath & Sons, starring Suriya and directed by Venky Atluri, has achieved commercial success, collecting approximately Rs 200 crore at the box office within ten days of its release.

In North America, the film has earned roughly $2.1 million, surpassing its $1.8 million breakeven target. Globally, the film has collected about $5.3 million (Rs 50 crores) in its first eight days, comfortably exceeding the overseas breakeven mark of $4.25 million. Performance has been particularly strong in Telugu-speaking markets across North America, the UK, and Australia, while the Tamil version has seen comparatively lower engagement.

Director Venky Atluri recently revealed that the film's climax underwent significant changes during production. While an initial draft featured a traditional happy ending, Suriya requested a different approach to ensure the film felt distinct from his previous commercial work. The final version concludes with an ambiguous ending that leaves the relationship between the lead characters open to audience interpretation.
