Surly's Newcastle reports high attendance during soft opening

Surly's Newcastle has reported visitor numbers that have “exceeded expectations” during its initial soft-opening period on Hunter Street. Venue manager Joel Ervin stated that the local response validates the decision to expand from the original Surry Hills location.

The venue is currently using the soft-opening phase to refine food, service, and operations based on customer feedback. While a formal launch party is being planned, the establishment intends to keep the majority of its downstairs area booking-free to maintain a free-flowing atmosphere.

Designed with a focus on sports, the venue features 20 television screens and a 200-inch LED screen in the courtyard. While standard bookings are not expected to launch until September, the venue will offer special bookings for major sporting events such as the Super Bowl and grand finals.
