Surrey Alliance Church sanctuary damaged by fire

A fire on August 14 caused significant damage to the Surrey Alliance Church sanctuary in Central Surrey, affecting the roof and south wall of the building. The incident resulted in extensive smoke and water damage, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Lead pastor Mike Knott stated that the congregation of 175 members will move worship services to other areas of the church property, including the parking lot and a meeting room at 13474 96 Ave, while restoration work begins. The fire has also impacted the church’s ability to host community events and its extreme-weather shelter.
