Surrey Eagles begin hockey season with tribute to Nicholas Johnston

The junior hockey season is beginning in White Rock and South Surrey, featuring upcoming games for the Surrey Eagles. On September 18, the team will host the Coquitlam Express for ‘Big Nick night,’ an event dedicated to honoring the legacy of Nicholas Johnston, a longtime member of the Eagles organization who passed away earlier this year.

Following that, the Eagles will play the Chilliwack Chiefs at the South Surrey Arena on September 20. The season arrives amidst structural changes in regional junior hockey, including the launch of the 22-team British Columbia Hockey Conference (BCHC), which will rival the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL).
