Surrey landlady detained following tenant dispute over barbecue

A dispute between an Indian-origin landlady, identified as Raj Tiwana, and her tenants in Surrey, British Columbia, has gained widespread attention following the release of viral videos. The conflict reportedly began over the use of a barbecue on the rental property. The landlady allegedly objected to the barbecue, claiming it could damage the property due to stains on a wall, while the tenant maintained they were entitled to use the equipment.

The tenant documented the escalating confrontations through a dedicated Instagram account titled ‘Tiwana Farm Servivor’. The footage includes allegations of harassment, unauthorized lockouts, and property damage. One video clip shows Tiwana being detained by police officers. While the videos have sparked significant discussion on social media, local law enforcement has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
