Surrey man charged in fatal April 2025 hit-and-run

Baldeep Chahal, a 38-year-old man from Surrey, has been charged with 12 criminal offences following a fatal hit-and-run incident in April 2025. The crash occurred at the intersection of 164 Street and 108 Ave in the Fraser Heights neighbourhood, where three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle.

The incident resulted in the death of a six-year-old girl. Two other victims, a seven-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Following an investigation by the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit, Chahal was charged with offences including dangerous driving causing death, impaired driving causing death, and failing to stop after being involved in an accident.
