Surrey police investigate suspected homicide in Fleetwood

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered on a rural road in the Fleetwood area of Surrey on October 14. The body was located in the 6100-block of 156 Street near a farmer’s field shortly after 1:00 p.m.

Investigators suspect criminality and are working alongside the Surrey Police Service, Integrated Forensic Identification Services, and the BC Coroners Service. Due to exposure to the elements, authorities have not yet been able to positively identify the deceased man, whose age and ethnicity remain unknown.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance in establishing a timeline of events. They are specifically requesting dash-cam footage from anyone who was in the area between October 8 and October 14. Investigators are also looking for witnesses who may have observed suspicious people or vehicles in the neighborhood during that period.
