Surutatazo 2026 extreme route event draws thousands to Sinaloa

The 12th edition of the Surutatazo extreme route event in Surutato, Badiraguato, has concluded with significant economic and tourism results for the state of Sinaloa. The event attracted more than 10,000 participants and saw the entry of over 2,000 all-terrain vehicles into the ‘Las Babisas’ concentration area.

Visitors traveled from various Sinaloa municipalities as well as from Durango, Sonora, Baja California Sur, and from the United States, including California, Phoenix, and Nogales. The high demand resulted in 100 percent occupancy in hotels and cabins, with some visitors opting to camp or rent local homes.

The event generated an estimated economic impact exceeding 13.5 million pesos, benefiting local businesses, tourism service providers, and community families. State Tourism Secretary Mireya Sosa Osuna and Local Deputy Verónica Avilés Rochín highlighted the event as a success for regional development and adventure tourism in the state.
