Survey: 96% of respondents emphasize importance of postpartum mental care

A survey conducted by NEXER Group and Hiraishi Children's Clinic involving 250 men and women in Japan reveals a high demand for postpartum mental health support. Approximately 96.0% of respondents stated that postpartum mental care and support systems are important.

While 87.6% of participants are familiar with terms such as “postpartum depression” and “maternity blues,” only 7.2% reported understanding the specific symptoms and necessary coping mechanisms. About 41.2% of respondents reported that they find emotional instability after childbirth to be a familiar or personal experience.

The most requested form of support is the availability of professional consultation services that can be accessed at any time.
