Survey reveals partisan divide over causes of challenges facing women
A survey by the Survey Center on American Life reveals significant partisan and generational divides regarding the causes of societal challenges facing women in the United States.
Among Democratic women aged 18 to 29, 66% stated that the challenges women face in American society are due ‘a great deal’ to the behavior or actions of men. In contrast, only 18% of Republican women in the same age group shared this view. This disparity persists across older demographics, though the gap narrows slightly as age increases. For women aged 30 to 49, 54% of Democrats blamed men compared to 23% of Republicans, while among those aged 50 to 64, the figures were 47% and 25%, respectively.
The survey also noted differences in how men perceive these issues. Republican men were found to be more likely than Democratic men to attribute societal problems to women, with at least 26% of Republican men aged 18 to 29 blaming women for the problems they face.
