Survey reveals regional interest in stock investment across Japan
A survey of 10,000 residents aged 20 to 70 across Japan has revealed varying levels of interest in learning about stock investment. According to data released by Treasure Promote, the operator of the online school ‘Kabu no Gakko Dot Com’, Oita Prefecture ranked first in the desire to learn about stocks at 51.2%, followed by Okinawa and Fukushima.
Fukui Prefecture showed significant interest, ranking 6th nationally for the desire to learn. Notably, among women in Fukui, the interest level was 50.6%, placing the prefecture 2nd nationally for that demographic. Fukui also ranked 3rd in the percentage of people actively engaged in stock investment, leading researchers to categorize it as a region with high existing experience and a strong motivation to deepen knowledge.
In contrast, regions like Okinawa and Fukushima showed high interest in learning but ranked much lower in actual investment participation, suggesting they are emerging markets for financial education.
