Survey: Storage and Flow are Key to Efficient Custom Home Design
A survey conducted by NEXER Group and Deccs Co., Ltd. involving 100 respondents who have purchased custom-built homes highlights the importance of layout and equipment in reducing household labor.
According to the findings, 59% of respondents felt that prioritizing household movement flows (circulation) during the design phase was a beneficial decision. The most effective feature for easing daily chores was identified as “circulation paths” (38%), followed by family closets (10%), dishwashers (8%), and laundry rooms (7%).
When asked what elements are most necessary to create a home that “generates time,” respondents prioritized storage (29.0%) and efficient movement flows (27.0%). The data suggests that for dual-income households, planning specific sequences for tasks like laundry and cooking is essential for improving daily living standards.
