Survivor 51 to premiere on CBS with new cast and gameplay twists

CBS is preparing to launch the 51st season of the reality competition series Survivor on September 23. This new installment, dubbed the ‘Open Era’ by host Jeff Probst, features 21 new castaways ranging in age from 24 to 49. Unlike the previous season, which featured returning players, this season consists entirely of new contestants.

The ‘Open Era’ introduces a gameplay mechanic where advantages and twists from the show’s history can return at any time without warning, intended to create permanent uncertainty. The season will be filmed in Fiji and will feature a two-hour premiere airing on CBS and Paramount+.
