Survivor champion Stavros Floros values trophy over cash prize
Stavros Floros, the 22‑year‑old winner of the Greek reality‑TV competition Survivor, told the morning show Buongiorno that his first thought after learning he had won was to bring home the trophy, saying “Mama, I’ll bring the cup,” and expressing no interest in the monetary award.
Floros remains hospitalized in Miami, where doctors are treating a severe injury sustained on the show. He has undergone amputation of his left foot and suffered serious damage to his right ankle. His mother said production host Ajun Ilyazli is in constant contact and has assembled a team of fifteen top doctors. A further operation is planned within hours to improve recovery of the right leg and address nerve pain in the left, with a possible prosthetic fitting later.
Despite the pain, Floros is keeping a positive attitude, smiling through his treatment and focusing on the upcoming surgeries and his return to normal life.
