Survivor Greece contestant sues for $100 million after leg amputation

Stavros Floros, a 21-year-old contestant on Survivor Greece, has filed a lawsuit seeking over $100 million in damages following a life-altering accident during filming in the Dominican Republic. The incident occurred while Floros was spearfishing near Saona Island, where a tourist boat's propeller struck him, resulting in a partial amputation of his left leg above the knee and severe injuries to his right ankle.

In the legal filing, Floros alleges negligence on the part of the production team and broadcaster. He claims producers required contestants to spearfish in open waters heavily trafficked by tourist boats without providing essential safety measures such as spotters, warning markers, or designated safe zones. The lawsuit further alleges that producers were aware of previous near-misses and a prior fatal incident in the area.

Additionally, the lawsuit includes a claim that production staff provided cocaine and marijuana to remaining cast members to help them settle following the accident. Floros is seeking compensation for medical expenses, mental anguish, and the loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life.
