Stavros Floros seriously injured after boat collision in Dominican Republic
On 12 May 2026, Greek contestant Stavros Floros was struck by a tourist speedboat while spearfishing off Agios Dominikos in the Dominican Republic. The impact caused a partial amputation of his left foot and severe injuries to his right ankle. He was rescued by nearby crew members, received first‑aid on the beach and was air‑lifted to a local hospital where he remains in intensive care. Officials described his condition as serious but stable and noted that his life‑threatening risks have been controlled.
The production company and broadcaster announced an indefinite suspension of the Survivor Greece shoot while authorities investigate the circumstances of the collision. Acun Ilıcalı, the show’s producer, expressed shock and pledged to travel to Dominica for updates. In response, amputee footballer Barış Telli posted a supportive message on social media, urging Floros to stay strong despite the loss of his leg.
The incident has prompted calls for accurate reporting and a formal inquiry by local port authorities into the boat’s navigation and safety procedures.
