Surya Hospitals honors human milk donors

Surya Hospitals has highlighted the impact of its Human Milk Bank, which has supported more than 2,000 babies since its establishment in 2019. The institution used India’s Independence Day and World Breastfeeding Week to honor donor mothers and emphasize the clinical importance of donor human milk for premature and low-birthweight newborns.

Each year, approximately 100 to 120 low-birthweight infants at Surya Hospitals require breastmilk support as part of their clinical care. The bank utilizes advanced pasteurization technology to provide a safe, screened, and processed nutritional lifeline for medically vulnerable infants when a mother’s own milk is insufficient or temporarily unavailable.
