Suryakumar Yadav backs Indian cricket team, dismisses fake social‑media claim
Former India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav used his X account to reaffirm support for the national side and 15‑year‑old prospect Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. He wrote, “I’m very happy for the team … the boys are giving it their all, and they will always have my full support,” and added a special note for Sooryavanshi, urging the youngster to enjoy his journey and make the country proud.
Yadav also warned fans against misinformation, stating that a statement circulating online had been “falsely attributed” to him and urging people not to share unverified content. Meanwhile, Sooryavanshi made history in the second T20I at Manchester, becoming the youngest Indian international cricketer at 15 years and 99 days, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record. He scored 14 runs from 10 balls, hitting two sixes. Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said the debut was planned and emphasized that Sooryavanshi should simply play his natural game.
